Experts OnDemand: Clinical Implementation of C-Brace: Success factors for Optimization

Description

Recognizing there were no options available for patients with quadriceps weakness that wanted to be able to ambulate down ramps, stairs and uneven ground safely was the reason for the development of C-brace; the first Microprocessor stance and swing controlled KAFO. This course will provide clinicians, both novice and experienced, with actionable practices to not only ensure they are selecting the best candidates for this technology but also ensure they have the best outcomes of C-brace trials.

Objectives

• Familiarize clinicians with the C-brace trial tool

• Instruct clinicians on appropriate alignment

• Describe the 4 modes the C-brace can be programmed into and the function of the joint in each respective mode

• Explain the default function of the C-brace and how it is specifically designed for the safety of the patient

• Provide examples of scenarios clinicians will experience when working with patients during a typical fitting and how to overcome them to provide the best care and best outcome
